Tenerife’s beaches are one of the main reasons people visit the island. UNESCO World Heritage site has named this island one of the ‘12 Treasures of Spain’. Additionally, rent a boat in Tenerife and go whale and dolphin watching, catch some big fish and enjoy some water sports! If you’re looking for a classic beach holiday- look no further. The climate is great year-round with temperatures ranging from 21°C to 29°C.

The 5 best beaches in Tenerife are:

Tenerife coastline view

Antequera Beach

Located on the southern coast of the Anaga massif in the municipality of Santa Cruz. This black sanded beach can only be reached by boat, making it remote and relaxing. If you’re looking for a tranquil getaway from the crowds, you found your perfect paradise. When the sea level is high, the waves will cover a large amount of this beach. This is a great hidden beach in Tenerife to visit with your Tenerife boat rental, especially with the stunning contrasts of blue, black sand and high mountains.

Almaciga Beach

Looking to surf? Almaciga beach has a wild nature with fine black volcanic sand and strong waves. The view from your boat rental is one of a kind with the blue-green from the ocean and mountains and black sand colours sanding out. This is one of the three beaches in Taganana, a charming village you can also moor close by to and check out! Nestled at the foot of the Anaga mountain range it is a must-visit on your trip.

Benijo Beach

Benijo beach, located after the small village of Taganana is one of the most isolated beaches in Tenerife. This is a perfect beach to end the day with the sunset. The views are truly extraordinary when you mix the orange and blue sunset skies with the blue sea and black sand. Not to mention, the green mountain background! This beach is easily accessed with a boat rental and is another great one for surfers due to the strength of the waves.

Ancon Beach

Next on our remote secluded beaches, Ancon beach. Located in La Orotava this 400-metre beach is accessible easier compared to the others on the list. However, it is difficult to get on your feet, so a boat rental is the best option to get here. The breathtaking landscape is stunning and has few people frequenting it! If you want to escape the crowds and discover the untouched beach. The view of the steep, lush green cliffs in the background and the constant sound of the waves and surfers.

Ocadila Beach

Located in Anaga, in the northern part of Tenerife, this beach can only be accessed by boat from La Punta del Hidalgo! This black sandy beach is beautiful due to its landscape with small hidden coves and caves to run away from the sun. You can also visit the beautiful hidden coves close to it such as La Pachila or Garajo! This authentic landscape will make you feel like you’re in a small paradise on Earth. This is another great beach for advanced surfers who are ready to catch some waves.
